    Solutient Signs Grant Management Contract with Orleans Parish

    Solutient has signed a contract with Orleans Parish to manage the preparation and submission of grant applications for the Severe Repetitive Loss program for funding years 2008 and 2009, as well as the management of the grant funds and implementation of the mitigation projects once funding is awarded. Phase I was completed on November 19, 2008 when Solutient filed an elevation grant application with GOHSEP on behalf of Orleans Parish. Phase II, managing the grant funds and working with homeowners to get their homes elevated, will begin once FEMA awards funding.

    Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority West Bank

    Solutient is proud to announce that we have been awarded the contract to completely overhaul the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority West Bank’s public website and intranet sites. SLFPAW currently uses a web platform for sharing news and documents amongst board members and staff, and also with the public. Solutient has been chosen to give these sites a new, modern look and feel using the latest in web platform technology. Additionally the new sites will be using Solutient’s easy-to-use WebCMS website administration tool, which allows easy real-time web page editing from a WYSIWYG-style editing tool.     National Award Received for Flood Mitigation Work

    The Center for Hazards Assessment, Response & Technology at the University of New Orleans (UNO-CHART) and FEMA Region VI were recently awarded the John R. Sheaffer Award for Excellence in Floodproofing by the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM). Solutient provides GIS analysis, data research, and custom web development to support CHART’s outreach, which seeks to educate homeowners on floodproofing options. Accepting the award for UNO-CHART was Sarah Stack, along with Ross Richardson of FEMA Region VI. Dale Kirby, Director of IT (2nd from left) and Michael Wesley, Director of GIS (far right) represented Solutient at the ceremony recently held at the annual ASFPM conference in Reno, Nevada. The award was presented by Al Goodman, Chairman of the ASFPM (far left) and ASFPM Executive Director Larry Larson (2nd from right). Solutient developed and maintains the floodhelp.uno.edu project website that provides how-to information to homeowners seeking to floodproof their homes, and online mapping and database search capabilities for community officials to help them identify problem areas and potential solutions.

    Solutient is Awarded Grant Management Contract with Jefferson Parish

    Solutient has been selected by Jefferson Parish, LA to provide program management services to assist the Parish in grant relationships with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Governor's Office of Homeland Security/Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) in conjunction with the FEMA Severe Repetitive Loss pilot program. Jefferson Parish has been allocated $22.6 Million for this program.
